Role: sineQN provided the project management and contract administration services for the construction of an award-winning data centre.

Project Details:

• Project managers from Stage B design through to Practical Completion
• Phase 1 delivered 20,000 sq ft of white space over 2 data halls, expandable to 50,000 sq ft within a 300,000 sq ft building
• Designed to a Tier 3+ Standard
• Day 1 power provision 15 MVa, day Ultimate 25 MVa
• Average IT load 7.7 KW per rack (increasable to a max. 11 KW)
• Enclosed cold aisle cooling solution utilised to provide efficient air cooling
• Achieved BREEAM Excellent and LEED Gold [Platinum being targeted]
• Project won Data Centre Dynamics ‘Mega-Data Centre of the Year 2010’ and was short listed for ‘Green Data Centre of the Year 2010’

Client: Danish renewable energy specialist

Role: sineQN provided the project management and contract administration services for the construction of a purpose-built Research and Development facility on the Isle of Wight.

Project Details:

• Project managers from Stage B design though to Practical Completion
• New build – the delivery of the largest building ever constructed on the Isle of Wight
• Building size 290,000 sq ft
• Client will use the building to develop and test their largest wind turbine blades for use in the UK
• BREEAM Excellent achieved

Client: US financial institution

Role: sineQN provided the project management services for the construction of a Tier 4 underground data centre in Kent.

Project Details:

• Project managers from Stage B design though to Practical Completion
• New Build subterranean data centre designed to a Tier 4 standard
• New data centre constructed adjacent to existing live data centre
• 2 x 5,000 sq ft white tile
• Project included 20,000 sq ft of office construction above the data centre
• Cat B fit out of offices
• 3 levels of subterranean car parking

Client: US technology and business services firm

Role: sineQN provided the project management and contract administration services for delivery, commissioning and handover of a new energy centre to a live data centre

Project Details:

• Project managers and contract administrators from concept evaluation through to practical completion
• The project comprised the construction of a new energy centre adjacent to the live data centre in order to provide greater and more efficient power capacity
• Site specific challenges were (i) planning constraints (noise) due to close proximity of residential and nature reserve, (ii) existing live power and fibre services in the ground serving the data centre
• Commissioning strategy required at start of project to allow a series of complex changeovers to be planned via the client’s change control process

Client: European telecommunications firm

Role: sineQN provided strategic project management services to develop the real estate consolidation programme following the creation of the organisation through acquisition.

Project Details:

• sineQN devised the global real estate strategy and implementation plan to deliver over 5m sq ft of rationalisation savings through portfolio consolidation over a 12 month period. This entailed creating regional plans and performance metrics to allow monitoring of progress
• Established and monitored the global delivery structure to complete projects (approximately 300 per year)
• On boarded external global and regional PMO delivery teams and monitored performance to ensure the delivery strategy was being realised
• Mid-point during the first year the team took on the additional works to deliver the global portfolio of growth projects alongside the consolidation programme
• sineQN have also undertaken regional programme management roles for MEA, North East and Western Southern Europe

Client: US data centre developer/operator

Role: sineQN provided project management and contract administration for multiple data centre projects in the UK and Amsterdam.

Project Details:

• We have undertaken multiple projects in the UK as well as in Amsterdam delivering turn key data centres and built to suit projects
• The projects range from 5,000 to 15,000 sq ft of white space based around a tier 3 concept
