Mission Critical Project Management
Data centre and mission critical management model
It has taken us five years to develop our project management model for data centres and mission critical schemes.
It is the culmination of years of experience and lessons learned. It is based on reducing risk, reducing change (and therefore costs) and ensuring a close fit between stakeholder requirements and the delivered project. Much of our specialist work is focused on the design phase to ensure maximum impact.
Project management tools
When undertaking the management of data centre projects, we set up clear project control processes and procedures at the outset, and communicate this protocol throughout the team.
We use our own tools, which are developed during the design phase to ensure the design:
- Interprets the requirements of the corporate functions
- Is efficient with regard to power, cooling, space utilisation and avoids under or over design
- Is integrated and coordinated into the physical space
- Focuses on resilience, availability, reliability, SPOFs and segregation
- Aligns with day two corporate requirements that may not be obvious during the design stage (e.g. critical engineering operations and security)
- Is understood in terms of delivery, and is approved by the client
If you would like to understand more about our project management tools, we would be happy to demonstrate how they have been tried and tested on completed data centre projects.
